Archive

This is an archive relating to the Independent Safeguarding Board

The Board’s role was to act without fear or favour and to act as a critical partner across the Church of England and its National Safeguarding Team.

The ISB's role was to question, reflect, monitor, and report on the culture of safeguarding across the Church to seek assurances that safeguarding is embedded, and a culture of safeguarding is embraced.

The closure of the ISB was announced less than one hour after its members were notified in June 2023.

Recent Developments: ISB Response to GS Misc 1341
